Rozi Plain: Stolen Shark (Fence, 2008)
Born in Winchester, now resident in Bristol, 22 year old Rozi works on the ferries that scoot across the Avon and, while doing so, writes these rather beautiful songs. She recorded some of the album with Gordon out of The Aliens and his brother Kenny, who is the very wonderful King Creosote. There's an album called Inside Over Here out in October. Until then, enjoy.

Rozi rather fablis. Mary Hampton also but maybe more folky. S Maconie played Villager by Matt Deighton at the weekend for a very welcome blast from the past
it's a bit larvely, innit?
I'll have listend later on , am worried about the Krazy spelling mind, that always has me reaching for my gun...
i hear you - but it's good!
I had listen to it last night and your right it is jolly good. I've put my gun a way . Rozi Plain does sound like the heroine of one those lilac jacketed chic lit novels.
Phew! Glad it arrived safe! It's an incredible record :)
BLTP: Glad you like it...
Pictish: It is a FANTASTIC record (but you knew that)!
What a difference two years make. From quietly talented indie folkstress in 2008, to the greatest act in rock history with her full band set in Blackburn in 2010. She is much more powerful with her full band, and should use them all the time if she wants to go mainstream.
Great as her first EP and LP were, her next album will be an all time classic-the new songs are awesome!
