The Streets New Album: Oh Dear Me It's Good

It's called Everything Is Borrowed and it's out on September 15. Anyway, as with all Streets albums, I start out thinking I don't like it at all and then I realise that, actually, it's bloody great. This one appears to be about, hello!, mortality and life and death and family and all that caper. There are tunes a plenty, but right now I'm a wee bit obsessed with The Escapist and Heaven For The Weather. But there'll be others. Nice concept with the promo sleeves too - "borrowing" old ones and, like, recycling them. Hurray. I can't post anything on account of I'd be murdered in my bed if I did. But I will when I can (probably).

EDIT: Escapist video...

I was just wondering about them the other day. Can you bring it home please?

Is that a Paul Smith hankie you've used as a backdrop for the photo?

Yes the inside cuff bits of my best Paul Smith shirt are just like that. You been rumbled my son.

I bloody love The Streets but they're/he's never quite as good as I want them/him to be...this is top though...

Shame about that murdered in your bed thing 'cos I'd like to hear some more.

September you say? Tchh.

I heard that this album was a bit more experimental - using a harp as accompaniment and stuff like that. Oooh - am I asbo'd?

The Streets have just got better and better with each album.

Can't wait for this one.

James Franco - The Streets have just got better and better with each album

right theory, wrong order. Each Streets album has progressively dropped in quality since the first. The lyrics are always great, but musically he's been running out of ideas ever since album 2
