Gigliola Cinquetti: Zero In Amore (Compagnia Generale Del Disco, 1969)
This is a another beauty that Silvana got while having a trawl through an Italian art market. Gigliola was an Italian Eurovision / San Remo staple for years, here she is doing the a-side to this single (which, sadly, isn't as good). Silvana's uncle was convinced she had become a politician, but that doesn't appear to be true. It matters not, this is a properly groove-some slice of late-60s Europop. Enjoy...
Lory: I Sentimenti (GR, 196?)
Lory, as you're about to discover, doesn't have the most lung-bustingly powerful voice of all time, but that just seems to add to the wonder of this cover of the Francois Hardy smasheroo from 1967. I suggest that some clever person makes a new and exciting pop record simply by stealing the intro to this. Over to you, then...

Yikes alive those are good, and right up my Carnaby Street too. If only Eurovision could be this good.
A daft question as I'm sure you've already done it - but have you lent an ear to the 'In Kraut' albums, to complete your pan European hand?
PS any chance of Southend based photo from the archives for us seaside swamp dwellers?
PM: Don't know In Kraut - will dig out... Got a great Southend one for you too.
rob:
was the second disc really £165 quid it had better be good!
I had to stop Silvana walking off after finding the First one.
We looked through about 5 or 6 boxes of dusty 7" singles to find these for you.
I kept shouting over "what about this one" whilst holding up an Italian version of Yazz and the Plastic Population.
It is a good job you werent with us or I think you would have bought them all.
BLTP: you are a terrible old teaser
James: She has "the bug". I would actually still be there, still going through 50 year old magazines and maps :(

if i had any talent at all i would. i'd have to stop doing embarrassing dancing first though.
