Whenever I'm anywhere near Goodge St I always want to get inside that huge old hospital there that's all boarded up and have a really good root around. Well, this guy clearly had the same idea (only he lives in America. And he actually did it).
The Middlesex Hospital was sold a couple of years ago by UCL to help pay for the new building on Euston Rd; the old Hospital is being developed into flats, so very soon much of the inside will be boxy, full of small rooms and white. Much like it was before, I suppose, only with additional laminate flooring.
something quite alluring about dereliction. I once went on a tour of Brighton west pier before it finally sank, after being issued a hard hat and life jacket in exchange for signing a large disclaimer form. Just the small things, an over turned chair, signs on the walls, very eerie, a bit like one of these films where somebody wakes from a coma to diescover there was a plague and nobody else is left but them, and the other people on the tour, and the guide who was a dead ringer for arthur smith...
