Come On The Rams!

Derby won their most important match in years last night. According to my sister, who was at Pride Park with the rest of the Derby-based Francos, it was the most exciting match she'd ever, ever seen but that's penalty shoot-outs for you. Next and last stop, play-off final at Wembley.

Anyone know how to get tickets?

I've got the same picture in my blog. I'll give dad a call. How many do you want?

Yes, I nicked the picture off your blog! Can you ask Dad if we can have two tickets please?

What about Scrap?

Scrap's too small for a football match! We need a sitter.

As I die-hard Forest fan, I'd just like to wish Derby the best of luck at Wembley. The East Midlands needs teams in the top flight.

Cloughie would be proud.

Scrap will love it! How many three year olds can say they've been to the new Wemberley? He'll be the envy of his friends.

Who do you want to join you in the final? As a Millwall fan, I'm rooting for Wolves (even though Mick McCarthy did mess us around while he dithered over whether or not to take the Ireland job..ggrr)

I used to like this blog... As a Saints fan, can only say congratulations. Don't like Derby's manager or the way Derby play football, but best of luck (through gritted teeth).

As for taking kids to football, I don't think you should take kids to football until they are around 6. My 3 year-old would never sit still for 90 minutes!

I have seen so many go and get bored and it can put them off. If you wait till 6 hopefully they will be really excited about going and be really into it.

I don't know much about footie but I do like to keep my eye on Derby and they haven't been in the Championship for five years so it's long overdue.
Yes, Cloughie would have been proud - he used to live near us, he did.
Simon, I would have been very cross to lose on penalties too.
Nunhead Mum of One - I was thinking that Scrap's local team would be Crystal Palace but do you think he should be supporting Millwall?

Simon said...

Silvana, clearly you don't know much about football if you would consider him supporting Millwall! Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Palace any day.

Silvana said...

Ok, ok. Millwall do have a terrible reputation I know but if they're good enough for Nunhead Mum.... Anyway, Palace it is then.

It's all about these boys for me (although I'd not heard about them until five minutes ago).

Famous Palace fans include Eddie Izzard, Sean Hughes, Jo Brand, Bill Nighy, Kevin Day, Ronnie Corbett, Neil Morrissey, Harry Carpenter and Maxi Jazz!

Millwall have Nunhead Mum and Danny Baker!

palace (note the non capital p) is a dreadful place to take a child! Millwall have got a dreadful reputation but that's changing (we're trying to change it anyway)and there are lots of children who go to matches and take part in all the training.

Oooh, just the thought of seeing little Scrap at selhurst park is enough to make me shudder - you do know they play their chants over the tannoy because their fans have no personality don't you?

Simon, sorry, meant to add this to my last comment. We also have Oliver Tobias, Lorraine Chase, Des O'Connor and that man who played Mickey Pearce in Only Fools and Horses.

But yes, looking at that list, I'm the classiest supporter by far!

Nunhead Mum, maybe you're right. Was quite selective with the Palace fans. They also have ventriliquist Roger de Coursey, David "KID" Jenson, Bill Wyman and Roy Hudd............

Silvana - Derby are already in the Championship. If we win at Wembley, we'll be in the Premiership. Fabio should support Derby not Millwall or Palace. Buy him a Derby shirt. Chances are, he'll end up supporting Chelsea.

Well Done Rams. One of my team was there supporting them. He is on cloud nine!

I usually try and keep my footie away from the blog, but as you've raised it here, and I am a season ticket holder I do just have to say..

COME ON YOU WOLVES !!!!

Now leave me alone, I'm nervous ;)

Scrap should definitely support Derby.
Buy him a shirt, decorate his bedroom in Black and White, and keep telling him about the good old days when the Derby teams used to come into the Gondola.
The good old days could be repeated, only 90 minutes away from the Premiership.
Fingers crossed for the play off final.
