Franklins: A Bit Good

So, we went to Franklins for dinner last night. There's really nothing I like more than a wander down Lordship Lane with S and chewing down a drink or two at the bar before going to the table.

We had artichoke and oysters and langoustine and slow roast pork belly and veal and some cheese and ice cream (not on the same plate, no). I drank enough Stump Jump to make the sunset through the front windows look even more impressive. Then Angela and Craig turned up and I tried to stop my eyes crossing long enough to make conversation.

All very lovely indeed. But my head still hurts...

It's press day. You know you can't take your drink. What were you doing getting hammered on a school night? tsk tsk!

I've been to Franklins once and Terry Jones was at the next table - is this normal?

Can't a man enjoy a small celebratory libation without getting all this abuse!

And yes Graeme, that is entirely normal. He lives just up the road. What were you doing in Franklins? Bit of a walk home for you, no?

Ah, I know Lordship Lane and environs rather well, although I haven't been there for a wee while.

My big bro lives in the area - I've spent many a wet Sunday with various junior members of the Thomson brood, tinkering with strange musical instruments in the Horniman, let me tell you...

I really enjoy eating at Franklins. It reminds me why British food is the best in the world.

Let me know next time you're down Graeme - we'll have some drinks. At Franklins!

Errr, given its close proximity, I am almost constantly available for a snifter in franklins. Do they have any jugs?

I've got very drunk in Franklins many a time but never eaten there. It was either there or the EDT (before they redid it) that we would have one too many beers before heading into the studio to write songs and drink silly amounts of red wine to aid the creative process. Happy days. Actually, I'll probably go past it on Saturday when I'm over that way to do some more recording now we've got the band back up and running.

Silvana, we're the not particularly successful EchoSound Location - http://www.myspace.com/echosoundlocation

It's more of a hobby than a career these days, not that it ever looked like being the latter.
