Last Night I Dreamt I Went to Manderley Again

I'm feeling sorry for myself today. Scrap had a sleepover at his friend Sam's last night and we went bonkers at a brilliant birthday party. I am never, ever drinking again. I am waiting for it to start raining really heavily, as forecast, so we have to all stay inside and watch my favourite film of all time. Yes, today at 5.15, BBC2. Sofa. Blanket. Tea. Biscuit. How I would have loved to have been married to Maxim de Winter (even if he were to call me a 'stupid little girl!' once in a while).

Sounds like fun. Mme Suicide and I have just returned from walking the dogs in the pouring rain. The supermarket now beckons. After that though, Rear Window with Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly.

What is Rear Window on today too? I love that film!

I love a good "blanket and sofa" moment. Which is probably why I'm a winter gal rather than a summer one. Something very odd about snuggling down on the sofa with a fleecy when it's 90 degrees outside, despite the fact that there's a cracking film (or two)on t'telly. And why is it, when I'm cold and in need of comfort, it has to be tea with one sugar and a custard cream or four? Never coffee with one sugar, always tea. Hm.....

I got the Rear Window DVD. I didn't realise Rebecca was on TV. They gave away the DVD for that away in one of the Sunday papers a couple of months back...

Quick. It's starting....

Thanks Silvana, haven't watched a black & white film, curled up on the sofa for 5 years, literally. The kids kept interrupting, but it was great, we even managed to snuggle up under a blanket, even if it was only for 10mins. Did you see all the other stuff on Daphne du Maurier - fascinating, I feel a bit more educated now. She was such a character.

Wasn't it great! I too stuck with BBC2 and watched the Daphne evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't know all that about her, what a saucepot!

Caught Karen watching this on video last night. She's a big fan too.
