Let's Be Having You

Derby County's return to the Premiership is looking like a bit of a disaster. We've got seven injured players and are bottom of the league and losing with scores such as 4-0 and 6-0. And I think we have Arsenal to look forward to soon.
Come on Derby, where are you?

When I was very young, probably about 7 or 8 I had a couple of mates who were slightly older than me. In an attempt (I assume) to impress them I stole a football sticker in the shape of a shield from a garage that we had cycled to. To this day I have never had even a remote interest in the round ball game so quite why I chose this trophy is beyond me. They were aghast at my actions, and so remorseful was I that I cycled back to the garage (when it was closed) and posted the appropriate coinage through the letterbox to pay for the stolen goods.

I vividly recall that the sticker was the Derby County emblem, I am truly sorry if my actions have had any bearing on the poor start to this season!

Up the rams!

When this came out the media's view wast that it somehow spoiled St D's image, with me she just rose to new heights. But which food writer could do the same for the Rams after having a cherry b or 2?

Silvana - its your duty to Derby to shout out Let's Be Having You next time you're in front of a tv camera. Most famous Deby supporter is probably Robert Lindsay. Maybe we could persuade him to do a Derby rant next time he's on at the Old Vic

Actually, the Derby Rams Trust gave me a lifelong membership when I gave books and stuff for their raffle. And I do like Cherry B. And I am filming with Gary Rhodes next week but it's not live so they'll edit it out. And it's for UKTV Food so no-one will be watching. Tim Brooke-Taylor could have a go on Radio's 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue?

I remember when Derby got promoted in May. The local news went to a pub in Derby to 'interview' the customers. "What are you looking forward to in the new season?" our intrepid reporter asked one drunken reveller. "Relegation" I said quick as a flash. Looks like I was right.

Play up Forest!

Landcroft House writes: Bright Ambassador's IP address has been logged and his details passed onto Billy Davies. He has also been promised a kick in the pants behind the crazy-golf in Markeaton Pk

Take no notice of BA. 'Play up Forest' indeed. see if you can get yourselves out of the Conference.

(Sorry BA, but slag off Tom Waits at your peril!)

PS -I deleted the comment above as I realised I may have compromised BA's secret identity!

Sorry I don't know who the craggy Derby superman who is illustarting this post is but he bares a strong resemblance to Josh Homme of the non more rock "Queens of the stone age".
