Catastrophe!

Landcroft House has gone into meltdown. The remote control has been missing for 36 hours. I have learned that since we bought our Topfield box it's not good enough just to watch telly but we now have to watch exactly what we want whenever we want. Robert cracked first but now Scrap too, has lost it. "Here Scrap" I said after crouching flat on the floor and pressing a tiny button 112 times. "It's Cbeebies".
"No!" He shouted "No more Big Cook Little Cook!@!!!" Kind of know what he means.
I cannot spend any more precious time looking under the sofa or behind the radiator. What we really need is a bigger, better tv with in-built, recordable freeview!

Have you looked in toyboxes? That's where ours always ended up.

The next stage is backs coming off (droppage)and batteries held in place with a rubber band wrap round

If this hasn't been found by the time I get home there will be hell to pay. I have all three episodes of The Secret Life Of The Motorway on that machine and I NEED to see them...

i hated being a s;ave to television and always steered clear of an ongoing series of programmes (mainly because I forgot to watch/record a vital episode). Then I got Virgin Media's recordable box and now I don't know how I survived. A whole series of Heroes at the press of a button. Fantastic.

You have my sympathy and I hope the wandering remote is found soon.

Don't leave us in the dangle! - Where did it turn up in the end?

Wedged behind the radiator. Of course, everyone denies responsibility but I don't care - just hooray for being able to watch episode 17 of Heroes tonight now!

Enjoy.

Go for Sky+, you will never look back.
My life is divided into two halfs, before I got Sky+ and after.

As for getting a big TV with built in Freeview, give me a bell, I know a man who can.....

My reckoning is, when we move house we'll get Sky+ and put the Toppy in the bedroom...

Don't wait until then, your life will change overnight.
And if I can refer you as a friend, then everyone's a winner.

Happens regularly in our house, so much so that we bought a second remote control that is used in emergency situations. The minute the original one is found - the emergency remote goes back into a kitchen cupboard. No more tears and no more missing Roary The racing Car.

Also - Rob, I loved Secret Life of The Motorway. Three great programmes.
