30 years dead this very day. Still, never mind, eh? I never really liked Elvis that much, apart from this one song. And, to be honest, I only really like this one because it was sampled on Chill Out and my memories of that record are so all-encompassingly positive that anything it touched remains gilt-edged and bathed in the warm glow of post-rave nostalgia.Innit.

Last time I saw Elvis was at the Pergola on Streatham High Road. He's still belting 'em out.
Suspicious Minds. Everyone loves that don't they? The funky guitar intro, the bit where it goes all slow and gospel on us (his singing is just amazing in that bit) and the over the top backing vocals? The kitchen sink production?
Maybe it's just me. Anyway, Mystery Train is great as well.
I love In the Ghetto that and American Trilogy. Both send shivers skittering up and down my spine.
