Best Restaurant In London: TOP SECRET EDITION

So, I was minding my own business (trans: doing something silly on Facebook) when the phone went. It was a lady.

"Hello, is that Rob?"
"Yes."
"It's Stella Rimington here..."

That's Stella Rimington, the ex-Director General of MI5. The First Lady Of Espionage, as the BBC described her (just three days before the world changed in rather a big way, I notice). We chatted for a bit then I asked her the question that the whole of the free world wants to know: ie, where does she like to have her tea?

"Well, my husband and I moved to Islington in the early 1970s - when it was just starting to come up - and ever since then we've been going to Frederick's in Camden Passage. It's remained very much the same in all the time we've been going there, which appeals to me very much. I tend to have the Blue Plate - the dish of the day, often fish - as the last thing I want to do when I go out to eat is make any difficult decisions..."

Excellent stuff. I hoped she might have said Rebato's as most of her staff used to go there (and leave their briefcases there too after too much vino collapso), but, maybe she's a bit over it.

Next stop: a very famous, recently reformed Scottish group. No, really...

I like the sound of Fredericks with its 'Blue Plate' - and it has a very classical menu but it's no way among the top ten best restaurants in London.
Who's the famous Scottish group? Please say it'sThe Proclaimers!

No. Brothers. Big hair.

And, Big Cuppa, in light of recent(ish) events, I think a BC reunion is a little unlikely...

Facebook is the best time wasting website I have found, far better than actually doing work.
