It's New Music Wednesday

Lacrosse: Let's Get Old (Tapete, 2007)
Here's a surprising thing. This here record is made by a bunch of attractive young Scandinavians and it's really good. Like this and this and this. Not that I'm tiresomely predictable or anything.

Oh no.

Good call. You might also like Agent Simple, from Gothenburg, whose Shaking An Egg ("where do they get those names from" copyright J Peel)ep is out this week.

Gothenburg - home to many a fine combo...

Er, when I said 'out this week' obviously I meant 'ages ago, but my finger was not that particular pulse'. For the current sound of young Gothenburg, search out Pet Politics. Not especially pop, you understand, but especially good.

Just listened to stuff on Lacrosse's website and it's not as knowing as the "let's get old "also they gain extra marks for the singers name "Nina Wähä"
